The Metabolism

One of the fundamental things to slim down fast is to be able to increase and accelerate your metabolism in a natural way. But before, it’s good to understand and understand it well what is metabolism and how can it help you.
In simple words, metabolism is the complex physical and chemical changes that happen in the body. Some process use energy and others release it. The necessary energy it is obtained from the food that you eat and it is measured in calories.
So by this you will be able to understand that the quantity and quality of food is very important to keep our metabolism healthy and make all organs and body functions work correctly.
Also metabolism is being influenced by the quantity and kind of activities that you do during the day, but even if you stay in bed all these processes keep working: your heart keeps beating, you don’ stop breathing, your body cells die and regenerate every day. It’s for that we need a minimum amount of food (calories) to survive. In other words if you eat less of what your body needs, these processes will not work correctly, and all you win with this, is to degenerate your health.
The collections of these functions happen with an established speed. If they happen too quickly it’s often said you have a fast metabolism, and in the other hand if it happens slowly you don’t.
Many people have a fast metabolism, because their parents made them that way. These people have a tendency of being skinny even if they eat a lot, but at the same time they have a really hard time to increase their muscles. This is just because they use more energy and supply their body functions faster. On the other hand, people with slow metabolism, who get fat very quickly since they don’t use energy right away, the body stores it as fat.
The speed of our metabolism is being genetically influenced by multiple areas where we can’t modify them, such as: age, sex, cell process, hormone, etc. But fortunately there are methods that are very simple to modify the speed of your metabolism.
What you are looking for is to make it faster, and by this you will become a continuous fat burning machine, even when you sleep. Doesn’t this sound wonderful?
There are three areas where you can modify your metabolism:
1- Basal Metabolism
Is the quantity of energy that our body uses without activity to be able to accomplish the basic functions of survival (breathing, organ function, composition of fluids, etc). Of the total of energy spent during the day, approximately 70% is destined to the basal metabolism and a lot of it is used to supply the requirements of muscle mass.
Increasing your muscle mass incredibly helps accelerate basal metabolism. This method is most effective to burn fat at every moment.
I will explain this point later in more detail, but I will tell you that it’s fundamental for a diet, measure of calories, to exceed the energy requirements of our basal metabolism.
If not the only thing you will gain is to make your metabolism lethargic, which is exactly what you don’t want.
2- Daily activity
It’s the quantity of energy designed for the activity that we do daily.
This point is very important since by logic the more exercise you do, the greater the quantity of energy you spend and you will end up burning more fat. Well, this is not quite right and from this a lot of myths have risen which we are going to bring down in other articles. But I can say that the quantity of exercise is not important, the quality is, which we are going to focus on doing exercise to raise metabolism.
3- Digestion
Even if it’s very logical, our body uses energy to eat. The digestion needs to work multiple organs to accomplish the intake and procedure of the food we eat. Even if it’s a low quantity of energy, we can take advantage consuming products that have a thermal effect and by this increase our metabolism in this area.
These 3 areas will help us change our metabolism speed to what we want. Don’t worry, since in other articles I will explain in detail each one of these areas. You will be able to easily accelerate your metabolism in no time.
